File Type: mp3
Download File

I have this saying: Perfection is an insult to God... It makes me feel better when I mess something up real good. So, I don't know how it happened, but somehow there was a glitch in the matrix and the album you've all been buying had track 5 also in place of track 4... and no track 4 ever appeared in the download.

I didn't notice it until I downloaded the album myself to listen to...

SO. please download [right click > save as] the mp3 in the link above, and place it in the PERFECT FREQ album folder on your computer, and delete TRACK 4 from that folder - and rename this new download, the same name as the old TRACK 4.

does that make sense?
the name on the original file is correct - but the music is a repeat of TRACK 5 - From The Silence.

If you downloaded the album in a higher resolution than 320kb MP3, and would like your new file to match your album bit rates - please send me a message and I will organise another link for you to download it from.

SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY...

my personal top 10 most influential sound healing practitioners: Part one ~ 1 - 5

(in no particular order)

1. Royal Raymond Ryfe - http://www.rifewiki.org

Roy taught me that sound, tones and certain frequencies can be powerful healing tools.
Picture
I have read about Ryfe's work for a number of years, firstly in 1998 in a book compiled by Jonathan Eisen - Suppressed Inventions & other Discoveries.

Here's an excerpt from that book:

In the summer of 1934, sixteen terminally ill people with cancer and other diseases were brought to the Scripps "ranch." There, as Rife and the doctors worked on human beings for the first time, they learned much. In 1953 when Rife copyrighted his book, he made the real report of what The Suppression of Alternative Medical Therapies happened in 1934. He wrote:

With the frequency instrument treatment, no tissue is destroyed, no pain is felt, no noise is audible, and no sensation is noticed. A tube lights up and 3 minutes later the treatment is completed. The virus or bacteria is destroyed and the body then recovers itself naturally from the toxic effect of the virus or bacteria. Several diseases may be treated simultaneously. The first clinical work on cancer was completed under the supervision of Milbank Johnson, M.D., which was set up under a Special Medical Research Committee of the University of Southern California. 16 cases were treated at the clinic for many types of malignancy. After 3 months, 14 of these so called hopeless cases were signed off as clinically cured by the staff of five medical doctors and Dr. Alvin G. Foord, M.D., pathologist for the group. The treatments consisted of 3 minutes' duration using the frequency instrument which was set on the mortal oscillatory rate for "BX" or cancer (at 3 day intervals). It was found that the elapsed time between treatments attains better results than the cases treated daily. This gives the lymphatic system an opportunity to absorb and cast off the toxic condition which is produced by the devitalized dead particles of the "BX" virus. No rise of body temperature was perceptible in any of these cases above normal during or after the frequency instrument treatment. No special diets were used in any of this clinical work, but we sincerely believe that a proper diet compiled for the individual would be of benefit. Date: December 1, 1953.

About 12 years later, I came across a Royal Ryfe article on the web, i had a 'eureka moment' - What if I could put some of these 'anti-cancer' frequencies into music? After a little more thought I realised it would be impossible to insert 'non-audible frequencies' into music that will be played on stereo systems and headphones - as this technology is made to only process and play audible sounds. This lead me to ask another question: Are there audible frequencies that are beneficial for human health? and if so, is there ONE frequency that is the most PERFECT FREQ of them all?  ...and the journey to find it began.

2. Ashera Hart - http://www.asherahart.net

Ashera taught me how to use and hold tuning forks, she showed me there are patterns in nature that correlate with certain vibrational tones - intention can be embedded into sound (live and recorded)  - and leading by example, to have faith in 'the universe' for all things work out.
Picture
When I first arrived in Bali in 2012, I met the wonderful Ashera Hart. Together we went to a 'Breakthrough' science and health symposium and afterwards undertook some sound healing experiments together.  (that's me lying down).

Ashera is a friendly character with many admirable traits - generous with her time and knowledge, and she's dedicated & passionate about creating music and helping others. She's also a great singer and teacher.

She trained as an opera singer and moved into Sound Healing in the mid-late 1990's. She has trained at the Institute of Cyberkinetics, Croydon, UK (Tuning fork therapy with kinesiology) and the Globe Institute (now called the Globe Sound & Consciousness Institute), San Francisco, USA (Certificate in Psycho-Acoustics – the scientific aspect of sound healing).  Ashera is also qualified in various types of bodywork (Holistic, Sports, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Injury Prevention Massage and Indian Head Massage).

Through the internet, I already knew about 'Solfeggio Scale' tones, but Ashera physically introduced me to them... and also to a form of aura/energy photography. Together we did some experiments combining my body, tuning forks (tuned to solfeggio tones), and this special photography process. We wanted to see if my aura or energy field was altered from the vibrations from the tuning forks. After setting everything up, our light melted and the photos didn't work out. We never re-staged the experiment again, but the process was fun and interesting. Later on I received her tuning fork treatment again in one of her tutorial videos - I zoned out and fell asleep for most of it.

from her website:
What is Solfegio?
The solfeggio codes are sourced from a wider number set called the Zobet, and when you take those divine mathematics of the Universe, convert them into sound and give them back to the human body, they can help us rebalance, tune in more deeply, remember that we are part of nature and then reconnect with our natural peaceful blissful state. When we are more in tune we can have a happier, healthier and a more fulfilled life!

Ashera also kindly contributed some Solfegio toned (and infused with the intention of LOVE, harmony and world peace), crystal bowl recordings to be include into the PERFECT FREQ album.

3. David Gibson - http://www.soundhealingcenter.com

Via his book, David taught me all sorts of stuff about sound and intention, resonating love and higher emotions, harmonizing chakras, brainwave entrainment to access higher states of consciousness... etc etc
Picture
While I was traveling in search of 'The Perfect Freq', a friend loaned me a photocopied book called: The Complete Guide to Sound Healing. I had no idea where to get it from, so two days before leaving town i photocopied it too. Over the next few months I read it from cover to cover. The author, David Gibson is a teacher and practitioner in the field of Sound Healing and Sound Therapies.

From his bio: He is the founder and director of the Globe Sound and Consciousness Institute in San Francisco. His book, "The Complete Guide to Sound Healing,"  is one of the top selling books in the field. The book explains how to use sound for physical healing, brainwave entrainment, releasing stuck emotions, opening the heart, and connecting to Spirit. David is also one of the top selling producers of Sound Healing music with over 50 CD's, and runs the Sound Therapy Center at the Institute offering over 15 types of sound healing treatments.

I was intrigued by David, not because he looked like a plumber from a 70's porno, but because before moving into sound healing, he was a recording engineer and record producer - JUST LIKE ME!  Back then he wrote two other books and a video series called 'The Art of Mixing' and 'The Art of Producing'.

Picture
I was heading back to Bali for a festival and organised to meet up with David Gibson to asked him a few questions regarding things i had read in his book, but he was so busy he couldn't fit me in... So I made an effort to be at an event where I hoped he'd be. The venue was dimly lit, and packed with about 200 people all seated or laying down on the floor. There was no way I was going to find him, I didn't even know what he looked like these days without the mustache. Just as the music was about to begin, a couple tip-toed through the maze of people and sat down in the only vacant space in the room - beside me! It turned out to be David Gibson and his wife!! At the end I leaned over to him and said: so... the universe wanted us to meet after all.

The following year we met up at the same festival and spent some time conversing.

4. SheRvin Boolorian - http://soundhealingbali.com/

Shervin taught me many things: voice is our most powerful sound healing instrument - less is more - the space 'between' is where the mind can travel - and how to 'hold space' for a group of people.
Picture
I met Shervin in 2012 and again in 2013 in Bali - after an enlightening conversation about Sound Healing, he asked me if i knew of anyone that needed a room. I said, 'yes... me'. And so I moved into the upstairs room at Shervin's place. In his evenings off we would hang out and chat about life, politics and music, and we discovered we had many things in common, including being able to recite the lyrics to a rap song by NWA . Both of us had also been part of 'the music industry' and felt disillusioned by how crap the world of entertainment was, personally for us, and also for the rubbish music they promote. After a few days of being his housemate, he asked me if I'd like to be his assistant. Sure thing! So I began to be a part of his Sound Medicine evenings, learning as we went. I ended up supporting him for over a year, eventually doing my own event with him assisting me.

Shervin studied Sound Healing at the Tama-do Academy of Sound, Color and Movement. It was started up by Fabien Maman who says: "When scientific research, spiritual practice and artistic expression work together, heaven and earth are in resonance. This is Tama-Do - The Way of the Soul". Shervin started The Bali Sound Healers Collective, an umbrella group for resident sound healing musicians, practitioners and events.

While i was staying at Shervin's place we started recording his album 'Spirit Night by Candle Light' which I finished the production of in New Zealand. When I was recording PERFECT FREQ, I requested Shervin's exceptional singing voice be part of it. And my wish was granted! Along with Josephine Costain, Shervin is featured in many tracks on the album.

5. Jonathan Goldman - https://www.healingsounds.com/

Jonathan taught me to not to be afraid about just doing stuff... he has a passion for music and sound healing that doesnt ever quit.
Aside from the obvious, Ryfe  - Jonathan is the only person in my top 10 that I havent personally met. Although I did take part in his 'World Sound Healing Day' Feb 14th 2015, with Courtenay Stickles. World Sound Healing Day is in its 14th year. The idea is that groups of people all around the world at 12pm (your local time) hum or sing a tone together for 5 minutes. Slowly a network of sounds and intention move across the world making people feel good and lifting the vibrations of the planet... adding some extra love and good vibes into valentines day. A little bit 'out there' for many, but it's better than war, right?

Most Sound Healers come from a musical background, and witness first hand the power of music.
Picture
from wikipedia: Goldman's interest in using sound as a healing modality originated from his own experiences during live performances as a guitarist in the Boston punk scene in the late 1970s. While playing, he became aware of how sound could be made to affect listeners, determined, in part, by the intention of the musician, not just the physical act of playing an instrument, nor the emotional energy expressed by the musician while playing. Based on these experiences, Goldman began to research the science of sound and music psychology, directing his overall studies towards the use of sound as a healing force.

His research and desire to connect with like-minded people led to his founding of the Sound Healers Association (SHA) in Lexington, Massachusetts, in 1982. SHA was a small, informal gathering of musicians, artists, scientists, teachers and authors, and anyone interested in sound healing. Meetings were organized by Goldman; they were held in his home once a month and typically included a guest speaker's presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Jonathan has produced over 30 albums, written a number of books and made a documentary on Sound Healing. In Spring 2011, Jonathan was named as one of Watkin’s Reviews “100 Most Spiritually Influential People on the Planet.” . He presents HEALING SOUNDS lectures, workshops and seminars worldwide.

6. John Dumas - http://www.johndumas.com/

John really showed me that music (even in it's most simple form) can move and capture someones soul.
Picture
John is from Hawaii, but I met him in a rice field in Bali - he played a four chamber flute for me. I closed my eyes and experienced perhaps one of the most unusual feelings I've ever felt with live music - it felt like my heart and soul was being pulled from my chest... and massaged. As my eyes welled up from the intensity, I almost fell back into the mud.

John is an extraordinary a sensitive musician. I have had the pleasure of being involved in a number of events with John.

from his Bio: John Dumas M.S. is an internationally renowned artist, musician, inspirational teacher, and pioneer in sound healing. He performs concerts and leads workshops internationally with his unique handcrafted flutes and didgeridoos. John has developed a unique sound therapy/healing ceremony that is titled "Shamanic Journey Into Dreamtime." This voyage into the dreamtime is an experiential interactive sound therapy that facilitates the healing of our mind, body & spirit. With the intention of love and compassion, John opens the doorway into the dreamtime, an altered state of time and space, producing awakened dreaming.

Performing in many countries and sacred sites, throughout, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and North America has given John the opportunity to lead ceremonies and play inside and Egyptian pyramids, Mayan temples, England's stone circles and the sacred mountaintop of Mt Saana, which is above the Arctic Circle in Finland. Whether through his concerts, shamanic meditations or land journeys, John's sense of commitment to his life's work to inspire love, empowerment, and unity worldwide continues to evolve. It is John's belief that through the universal language of music; where words are not needed that the beauty of oneness begins to emerge all over the world.

7. Courtenay Stickels - https://courtenaystickels.bandcamp.com/

Courtenay taught me to believe in myself and be persistent, even in the face of adversity. Good things take time...
Picture
My mum met Courtenay as she was serving hot spiced chai tea from a table at the Lyttelton Farmers Market near my hometown of Christchurch, NZ. Courtenay had heard that my mum's son was getting into sound healing and making a record based on the ideas around 'music as therapy'. So when i was next back home I made an effort to go and meet up with Courtenay.

Our meet up inspired a collaboration on International Sound Healing Day 2015 where we encouraged strangers to join us in a 5 minute toning session in the middle of the main street of Lyttelton.

Even though she has all the 'tools' and is as competent as any other in the trade, Courtenay doesn't consider herself a 'sound healer', she's a soul singer and a sound worker. In a town that is slow to catch on to the goodness of music therapy/sound healing, Courtenay is pretty much the only person putting on regular live sessions in Christchurch. Sometimes 6, sometimes 10 people come along and lay down. She also does private 1 on 1 sessions in her home. She's the real deal, and she's a trooper, and for that she needs to be applauded.

From her Bio: I've been a singer and songwriter since my early teens, but it wasn't until I had an awakening in my late 20s that I realized the presence of the Divine in my voice and understood what a great service I could contribute to humanity by being an instrument of love through my song. The more I surrender to this powerful presence and sink into the truth of my own soul, the more notes I am given - to touch hearts, change frequencies and be an agent of change in a world that yearns to heal and connect.

8. Dr Didge Dolphin (Arpana) - www.dolphinsdownunder.com.au

Dr Didge taught me that Dr Dre was a big phony. No, really - Dr Didge is a genius, he invented a telescopic travel didge! And can hold down the drones as solid, deep as the best.
Dr Didge taught me to follow my dreams, and nice guys finish first.
Picture
Dr Didge is an actual medical doctor, and survivor of a deadly food poisoning experience. You have to admire and respect someone that has come from a strict medical background into a form of healing that many in the mainstream medical professional would consider 'quackery'. The fact that a doctor has taken up the didge as a healing tool says that 'sound' and specifically the didgeridoo is something very special.

Dr Didge was taught by yidaki (didgeridoo) master Djalu Gurruwiwi in ArnhemLand and given the Yolngu name Mutjalanydjal which means dolphin. He has recorded over 30 albums of solo didge and with various groups including his partner Shamana tara.

The didgeridoo plays an important role in the creation mythology of Australia's original inhabitants, the low vibrating tones of the didge are said to have created the world and everything in it. Its sound also takes one into an altered state known as "dreamtime". In a therapeutic sense, listeners can enter deep states of relaxation or trance. It is in these depths of relaxation that the body’s natural healing abilities can best function.

I met the friendly and supportive Arpana through being involved in the Spirit Night events at the Yoga Barn. If you ever get the chance to have Dr Didge (or any other dig player) play their didge over and around your body, do it - it will blow your mind!

Dr Didge was also a guest musician on PERFECT FREQ.

9. StePHen Syms - www.stephensyms.com

Steve taught me that Sound Healing can be more than a passion or pastime - it can be a lifestyle and a real job!
Picture
I met Steve in Bali at the 'future health science' symposium I attended with Ashera Hart - we hung out a couple of times after that, dinner, beers and heart to hearts. Steve is based in Byron Bay, Australia, and has a huge gong collection. I finally saw the gong room at his home in the summer of 2015 when I was in Byron Bay after doing an event my my wife Jocelyn. Steve is extremely passionate about gongs and medicinal sound instruments in general - he even has a Ryfe machine.

From Steve's Website, re Healing Hertz, the program Steve and his wife Anna offer: The profound power of sound and especially the gong led them to leave their corporate lives and focus on raising people’s awareness on a large scale. They tour Australia’s east coast extensively touching thousands of people each year. With a plethora of instruments and as many gongs to think that there was an international rock band touring, they bring a tsunami of sound. This is not sweet music for the ears, but a deep immersion of the whole body, with the potency to still the mind, promote emotional, physical and spiritual transformation. An invitation to awaken every cell in your body and merge into sound.

Steve says: "Through creative innovation I endeavour to provide extension to the current limited view of our bodies anatomy and physiology. To support validation, predictability or consistency of results with my clients for the many rediscovered or emerging fields of complementary medicine."

and his clients say:
“ I want to report a major break thru with alleviation of crippling pain in my right hip since the last session. In fact, immediately after, I found myself sitting crosslegged chatting! I suddenly realised I hadn’t been able to do that comfortably for over a year!!"

"I had not realised just how much tension I was carrying in my body until having been to your sound bath. After that session I got home and I truly felt that the tension I had in my body and mind simply melted away and my whole body just felt relieved"

Picture

10. Hal Tropp

Hal taught me to be inventive, creative and innovative with instruments and sounds.
Picture
I first met Hal Tropp in 2011 at a didgeridoo festival in Australia, then again a year later. Hal is an incredibly humble, kind and generous man, with a huge talent for music. He was the first person that introduced the concept of tuning forks as a way to 'inject' sound vibrations into the human body. In a style similar to Ashera and Shervin's (both mentioned in the top ten) private sessions, Hal uses tuning forks like acupuncture needles, although his forks have crystal tips and he uses essential oils on the points of contact.

Also a brilliant didgeridoo player, Hal mostly plays music for meditation groups for the purpose of creating a transcendental experience. Hal thinks in music… i went to his house on our second meeting and he showed me some of his experimental sound devices. One that stood out was a pyramid made of huge tuning forks that hung from the ceiling - Hal would sit under it and get it to spin/rotate right above his head - like, his head was actually inside the pyramid. The forks were tuned in 5th's, so when it rotated it created this rotating 3d chord. seriously talented

And that completes the top 10 Sound Healing Practitioners that have had the greatest impact on my life and my live and recorded music work. Others worth a special mention are: Pepe Danza, Matt Omo, Michelle Berc, Shely Ourana, Swarmi Arun, AwaHoshi, Sika, Peter Mcintosh, Larissa Israel, Lucas Harper.
