DOT TO DOT - lyrics

One day in a meditative sleepy state i came to the realisation that i was a dot on the planet... and if i am a dot, then everyone is a dot. And together we are all part of a dot to dot illustration.

this final image is unknown, but it's so amazing - so absolutely perfect, but we can only see this picture when everyone realises they are part of the picture... and connects a line from themselves (their dot) to the other dots on either side of them... The line can only be drawn with and from our hearts. start drawing... Dot to Dot is track 8 on Perfect Freq.

perfect frequency of love

This is the first single from Perfect Freq...

The song began with one word - PAPER, which i believe was given to me by my wife-to-be in a dream, or ESP on the second night i slept over at her place. I was certain she had put that word in my head, and was unsure why. I meditated on the word PAPER for a few days, and then came up with: 'Love is like a piece of PAPER! - two sides - but ONE!!!' and then the song unfolded from there. The title and chorus lyrics came from the name of the doco I was making: In Search of the Perfect Frequency.

Once finished writing it, i recorded a version of the song - it has beats and lots of sounds in it, but it didn't fit very well on the album. So I pondered what to do, in the end decided to employ the help of my favourite NZ musician - Andy Gibson. After showing interest in being involved, I requested that he make a slower, more chilled version... Once the song was put through the Andy Gibson treatment, it came out better than the original! I then recorded the strings with Anita Clark (ex-Ragamuffin Children) in Christchurch in Feb this year.

why 'perfect freq'?

About 3 years ago i started making a doco called 'In Search of the Perfect Frequency'.

I had read a lot of stuff online about how sound can heal, and many people were claiming certain frequencies are more potent than others. With camera in hand, i traveled around Australia interviewing Sound Therapists and Sound Healers about their experiences.

I ended up in Bali on holiday, where i discovered and met dozens of Sound Healers. I continued my search for The Perfect Frequency interviewing and getting to know the people i met in the feild.

I decided Ubud, Bali would be the place i would base myself.

The idea behind the film, was that when i discovered the Perfect Frequency, i would add it into a body of music - and covertly heal people. And i would take the music back to Christchurch, where people are still suffering from anxieties and stress caused by earthquakes, and play it for free to people who wanted to experience it.

When i returned from Bali, my story captured the attention of a real film maker from Christchurch, Slavko Martinov. Him and his crew decided to follow me from my semi-homeless, dumpster diving, garage sailing, junk selling failure of a life - on to my brand new life in Ubud.

I met and interviewed about 20 people along the way, each having different ideas about sound therapies and frequencies - but all agreeing on one thing; there is no healing without intention. And the intention is just as important for the listener to have, as it is for the musician when they play.

And then, i fell in love, and everything made sense. The Perfect Frequency isn't a sound, it's LOVE!
